Knox Private Hospital is seeking an Accounts Assistant who is responsible for supporting the finance requirements of the hospital. This position would best suit a junior tertiary qualified Accountant in a ‘hands on’ transactional role, or an experienced accounts clerk, reporting to the Finance Director.

We have a 24/7 Emergency Department, covering a full range of medical and surgical specialty areas, including highly complex surgeries. Backed by the latest technology and expertise, we offer 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more. All supported by a soon to be expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit.

As an Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts Payable functions, including managing AP inbox and checking coding of invoices
  • Process staff expense claims
  • Accounts receivable functions, including preparing and emailing invoices and following up on overdue invoices
  • Handling inquiries related to supplier and debtor accounts
  • Assist in the reconciliation of cash accounts
  • Prepare reports as directed
  • Provide backup support to other business services such as patient accounts and required

Essential criteria:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work through large amounts of data
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS suite
